1. IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER - But it is looking good! Our quiet efforts
to work the rules and keep the so-called "assault weapons" ban bottled up are
paying off, as you can see in this morning's Gazette report at
http://www.gazette.net/200414/montgomerycty/state/209312-1.html
The article quotes proponents of this ban on semi-auto firearms as declaring
the bill dead, but have care: we need follow through to make this true. One
silly legislative misstep and the bill could be out on the floor in a hurry.
Remember, the Speaker's bazillion dollar tax-increase went from introduction
to passage last week in a dizzying three days, showing bills move when there
is political will. Our job - make sure there is no political will for a gun
ban (as we have been doing) and count the days to sine die, the final day of
session on April 12.
2. PAYBACK IS HELL. Gun grabbers never stop so defense of freedom must never stop. MPFO will host table at the next Silverado gun show in Frederick this next weekend (April 3-4) ... Will you kindly donate a few hours of your time to help us distribute legislative information, answer questions of gunowners and sell raffle tickets? We'll have a full team there and would like to use this opportunity to expand operations. The latest 'close call' with a semi- auto ban makes clear we need to ramp up recruiting even faster in preparation for our next shot at showing gun grabbers the door in elections.
So ... join us! We'll make it easy for you and I bet you'll have a good time to boot. And I guarantee - it makes a difference! Call Frank Bradley who is our state-wide coordinator for shows, 410 626 0333.
3. MPFO'S LATEST FUND RAISER IS DEDICATED TO POLITICAL PAY BACK: Marylanders for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (MPFO) has launched a fund raiser with all proceeds dedicated to the ouster of any legislator who promoted the assault weapon bans in Annapolis. We have a lot of payback to deliver, so we have a lot of raffle tickets to sell! Win an AR-15 tactical carbine (what gun- banners would call an "assault weapon" ... with attitude, we might add!) for a $5 donation. Details at www.myguns.net (Act soon to make sure you're in on the latest raffle - this will be drawn in April at some point after session lets out.)
