BALTIMORE POLICE DON'T WANT NEW LAW APPLIED TO THEM

Why is Baltimore city rushing to evade the governor's new gun laws? A May 11 Sun article describes the city’s plans to replace police sidearms, stating the upgrade would cost little because of a plan to trade existing guns for new ones.

But gosh … Glendening’s new gun package mandates that police guns be destroyed or sold to cops, not traded in.

Opponents of his package testified as to the plan costs, but we were rebuffed by Mike Miller and Casper Taylor, who didn’t want facts to get in the way of a Clinton photo op.

Both the Baltimore Mayor and Police helped sell SB 211. They said reselling police guns ought to be a crime. They’ll give a new definition to the word chutzpa by trading guns before their own law takes effect October 1.

We appreciate how once again our arguments are validated by the left. How many other advocates of Glendening’s bill are quietly scrambling to cash in before the deadline? Drop us a note if your local government shows signs of selling police guns, either now or especially after October 1.
